Jaipur: In yet another incident of sexual assault reported from Rajasthan, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly abducted on November 9 and later repeatedly raped by a 22-year-old youth for 14 days till her father rescued her on November 22 (Sunday).
How it happened
The affected girl stated that she went to attend a wedding at a village under Anta police station limits in Baran district. The accused, on November 9, abducted her from the village when she had gone to the fields to relieve herself and took her to a forest in Kota district. She alleged that he held her captive in the forest and repeatedly sexually assaulted her for two weeks, according to a report by The Times of India.
She, eventually, managed to get her hands on a mobile phone and call up her father, who then rescued her on Sunday. Following this, the girl, on Tuesday, approached the Anta police station and registered a complaint against the accused.
Father did not report when girl went missing: Police
Meanwhile, a police officer said the complainant’s father had not reported to the police when she went missing on November 9. The matter is being investigated and an application has been submitted for recording the girl’s statements in the presence of a magistrate. The accused is yet to be arrested, the officer added.
In another incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man at Sadavas village under the limits of Sadar police station in Pali district.
According to the police, the incident happened when the minor survivor, along with her family, had gone to attend a wedding ceremony. Finding her alone, the accused, identified as Omaram Nayak, lured the girl to a field and sexually assaulted her. He was arrested late Wednesday. Charges under the POCSO Act have been invoked against him.
