Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Sardar Sarovar Dam site on Tuesday to take part in the celebration organised by the state government after the water level in the reservoir crossed its highest mark on Sunday.
Modi, who is also turning 69 years old, will offer prayers and kick off state-wide “Namami Narmade” festival being organised by the state government. Chief minister Vijay Rupani had invited Modi to the dam site after the water level rose to historical height in last week.
PM Modi was greeted by a large number of supporters at the airport who were waiting to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.
On Tuesday morning, PM Modi will be meeting his mother Hiraben early morning to seek her blessings and later perform a puja at the Narmada district of Gujarat.
The puja will be part of the Namami Devi Narmada Mahotsav which is being organised by the Vijay Rupani government to mark the rise of water levels –138.68 metres — in the Sardar Sarovar dam.
PM Modi will also address the nation on his birthday at a rally around 11 pm.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is celebrating PM Modi’s birthday as the ‘Seva Saptah’ or service week. The party has announced several social initiatives that are being implemented by BJP leaders across the nation.
Meanwhile, an ardent supporter of PM Modi, Arvind Singh, a resident of Varanasi has offered a gold crown to Lord Hanuman at the Sankat Mochan Temple for his birthday. Singh told ANI, “Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, I took a vow to offer a gold crown weighing 1.25 kg to Lord Hanuman if Modi ji formed government for the second time.”
As the wishes are pouring in for the Prime Minister from all over the world, various sports personalities also took to social media to extend their wishes to Modi.
While Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recalled PM Modi’s clean India mission that has been an ‘inspiration’ to millions, current India captain Virat Kohli wished the Prime Minister success in his pursuit of achieving his missions for the country.
Ahead of his birthday, BJP workers in Delhi led by party MP Manoj Tiwari celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday at the India Gate on Monday night.
Wishes for PM Modi’s birthday have started pouring in. BJP leaders and Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman have wished the prime minister with messages on Twitter.
