Now people could soon travel from Nariman Point to Virar in just an hour

Mumbai: With the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Versova-Bandra Sea Link (VBSL) and the proposed extension of a sea bridge till Virar by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), it will soon take only an hour to travel from Nariman Point to Virar as compared to over 2-3 hours it takes currently.

The 42.75 km sea bridge will connect Versova to Virar with six-lane connectors at four locations i.e. Charkop, Uttan, Vasai and Virar and toll plazas at every interchange. According to the officials of MSRDC, the project will cost ₹24,000 crores. The distance between Nariman Point in South Mumbai and Virar in Palghar district is 90 km.

The pre-feasibility study has been submitted by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to MSRDC and it has been stated that 76,762 cars will use this extension once it’s open for public operations. The project is expected to be completed in the next 10 years.
