CBSE 12th Result 2020 declared, 88.78% pass, girls outshine boys


New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday declared the results of CBSE class 12th exam on its official website. A total of 88.78% of students have passed the examination. There is an increase of 5.38% percentage in comparison to last year’s 83.40%.

This year, girls have outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 92.15 while the pass percentage for boys is 86.16%. A total of 3.24% of students or 38,686 students have scored more than 95% marks in CBSE 12th exam.

The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal congratulated the successful students. In his tweet, the minister said, “Dear Students, Parents and Teachers! CBSE has announced the results of Class XII and can be accessed at We congratulate you all for making this possible. I reiterate, Student’s health & quality education are our priority.”

In the case of students who have appeared for more than three subjects, the ‘average of marks obtained in the best three performing subjects’ will be awarded for subjects for which the exam was not held, as per the board. For students who have appeared in exams in only three subjects, the average of marks obtained in ‘best two performing subjects’ will be awarded for papers for which exam was not held.

For few students who appeared for only 1 or 2 subjects, result was calculated based on performance in appeared subjects and performance in internal or practical or project-based assessment, as per the board.

In Delhi, a total of 94.39% students have passed the exam successfully.

As per the details shared by the CBSE Board, for Class 12 Results, Trivandrum region has emerged as the best performing region with overall pass percentage of 97.67%, whereas Patna region has emerged as the worst performing region with success ratio of 74.57%.

How to check via google

Step 1: Open the Google/Chrome tab on your phone or desktop.

Step 2: Type ‘CBSE 12 Result 2020’ in the search box.

Step 3: After you select “CBSE 12 Result 2020” from the recommended searches, a CBSE window will open asking you for specific details like your roll number and say, date of birth, for verification.

Step 4: Enter the requested details and click on the “Check Exam Results” button, following which your results will be displayed. It’s as simple as that!

Website down, how to check result

As the official websites are down, the students can check 12th result 2020 through IVRS (Interactive Voice Respond System). Just dial the below mention numbers after the official declaration of the result and tell your Roll No. and Date of Birth –
